tengo hambre

Lately I have really been craving food.

This isn't what it sounds like. I'm eating, alright. But "eating" to a college student who has no time to cook real meals isn't "eating" to a normal person.

Example: tonight after my haircut I didn't have anything to make. So I had some carrots w/ hummus, some of those multigrain chips from Costco (thank you madre!), and string cheese. I figured that would be enough of a meal.

It's 10:53 and my tummy is rumbling.

What? I ask it.

You're saying you want real food?!

The audacity of the idea...

Anyway. On Friday I am heading down to Utah again.

And I can honestly say that one of the things I am most looking forward to is my mother's magical touch when it comes to food.

Hooray for balanced meals!

p.s. do you think it's wrong if it's hotter inside the apartment than it is outside AND we have the air conditioning on AND there's an audible lightning storm going on too? do you? welcome to rexburg, people. welcome.

Apparently I have been without bread for so long that the
brownness has faded from my eyes and left behind
black craters...just kidding. Picasa decided
to turn my "red eye" into black eye. And this was
taken a year ago...back when I really did eat bread. *Tear*

{what happened to my brain}

5pm, June 24th: Doing homework in la biblioteca.
5:05 trying to write proposal for research paper
5:07 outside to get some energy from the sun
5:08 sun makes my shirt stick to my skin
5:09 eat apple, dream of swimming pool
5:10 shirt is getting stickier
5:15 go back into the library
try not to cry about it
5:20 wander around library looking for someone
5:25 give up looking and sit down
5:30 stare at computer screen
5:31 realize I should be doing homework
5:32 upon this realization, I direct my attention to
this video.
5:34 start laughing out loud in library
5:35 a few people glare at me
5:36 laugh some more, get some more hairy eyeballs
5:40 go back to Spanish homework
5:45 wake up 5 minutes later. Wait...wake up?
5:47 realize I need a nap
5:50 sleepwalk home
6-7 sleep
somewhere in here, I woke up and ate something
8:45-10 go back to library to finish what I never started
10-11 go home, journal
11:30 help Niki write her cover letter
11:45 decide a shower is in order
12 am: turn A/C in room to 60. Sink all the way down into my sheets
Did I mention I shaved my legs?
Have you ever shaved your legs and then
gotten between cool sheets?
Try it sometime. It's comparable
to eating lots of chocolate & then
taking a longgg nap.
12:30 read some Junie B. Jones to Chels & Niki
12:45 Good, bad, funny, something you don't know about me
*sleep again, dream again*
June 25th, 8:50 a.m. Woke up, looked at clock
8:51 realized it was morning
8:53 threw on a skirt, popped some Stride
8:55 thought about striding to work
8:56 forgot about brushing hair
8:57 changed my mind about striding to work
8:59 asked Chelsea for a ride
[sidenote: Chelsea is a gooood girl.
You wanna know why? She had a towel on her head.
& she still said yes.]
9-10 am: taught student about strong verbs.
What's your verb?
I have a few right now:
What? Sleeping is a verb.
10-11: go home, actually get ready
brush teeth
brush hair
lots of brushing
11:30-12:20 library...again

So now you know why my brain looks like this:
I need to go back to bed.

Liz Got Married (And I Cried)

"If young people could look into the Eternities and see the full value of a Temple Marriage they would crawl across the continent on their hands and knees to obtain it." --Brigham Young

To prove I was, in fact, there.

To: CB Scent

I haven't been to the reception yet... That will probably be emotional.

I just wanted to let the virtual world know that I have a really awesome roommate.
And I miss her.
The end.

Bloggin' From the Airport

Soooo, this is the first time I have ever done this. I am blogging from an unspecified location...oh dang, I guess I already gave it away in the title. Well, just pretend you didn't read that and guess:

I am sitting right by a room from which lots of smoke is emanating. There are people inside who will inevitably die of lung cancer someday.

I'm sitting across from

a hunched over guy in an Indian Jones hat

A bearded brunette reading...Esquire?

Listening to Anderson Cooper talk to someone about that one oil spill...thing...

Listening to the whir of airplanes outside the window

Watching a sleepy baby rest on its mom's stomach

and I can still smell that smoke (second-cough-hand-cough-smoke!)

Also, gearing up for my next flight to the place of my childhood:

p.s. did I mention I am a mere 25 minutes away from my parents? I'll post some wedding pics later! Hasta lasagna folks!

One Hundred Posts, Baby!

'Tis my 100th post. I've been thinking about it for a long time, and I'm still not sure what I'm supposed to write.

Is it supposed to be profound? Funny? Reminiscent? Maybe all three?

When I first started this blog, it was an outlet for recording outrageous college experiences. I figured if I started a blog for that sole purpose, outrageous things would happen to me.

And so they did.

Instead of giving you a big fat recap of everything, I decided to make it a little purtier.
I decided that I will be posting a heck of a lot more....
As in, once or twice a week.
Maybe a day?

My creative juices are flowing like a class 5 rapid right now.
So I shall succumb, like I always do.

Instead of writing your favorite memory of me/blog post in the comment section, I would prefer that you let your creative-ness run free.

write a poem
an original joke
a really really short story (flash fiction)
something in a different language
your favorite food and why
a dream you've had
the perfect day
a creative goal
your idea of beautiful

*mucho amor, mcfrenzy*

p.s. i haven't quite figured out how to make the comment button a different color, so click on the title of this post to see it betta.
